Beautiful

Today I was listening to "Beautiful" as sung by the Glee Cast. I don't watch Glee, but I do like some of their songs. :) I really like the lyrics:

"I am beautiful, no matter what they say. I am beautiful, in every single way."

In life, there will always be people who push us down to raise themselves up. We are faced with gossip and lies told about us or others nearly every day. So how do we solve this? In the Bible, James comments on this issue:

"^5-6It only takes a spark, remember, to set off a forest fire. A careless or wrongly placed word out of your mouth can do that. By our speech we can ruin the world, turn harmony to chaos, throw mud on a reputation, send the whole world up in smoke and go up in smoke with it, smoke right from the pit of hell."

James 3:3-10 (The Message)

Words are very influential, they can tear us down and build us up. They can help us reach our goals or prevent us from doing so.

Now, let's talk about the second sentence in the phrase from the song. "I am beautiful, in every single way." We all know that we are definitely not perfect. However, we are perfect through Jesus Christ. We remember, that in Christ, we are holy. We are loved. And no matter what anyone else says, we are His. In a word, we are BEAUTIFUL.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!"
